Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between putty and slime?

Putty is firmer: it holds its shape, bounces and can be pulled, snapped and stretched, and it does not dry out when you keep the lid on. Slime is wetter and runnier and usually comes in a tub.

How do I get putty out of clothes?

Don't rub it in. Pick off as much as you can, and makers such as Crazy Aaron's suggest using rubbing alcohol on fabric to lift what's left. Check the care label of the fabric first.

Is ferrite putty suitable for young children?

No. Ferrite putty sets contain many small magnetic stones and are labelled for older children and adults, usually 14+. They are not suitable for children under 3 or anyone who might put them in their mouth.
